Privacy Policy

Effective September 10, 2026. Plain-language, on purpose.

thedifferentme.com is a simple, static website for The Different Me: Discovering Your Traumatic Intelligence by JS Gilbert. It has no user accounts, no shopping cart, and no server-side database. This policy explains, plainly, what little there is to know about your privacy here.

Information this site collects

This site itself does not collect, store, or process any personal information. There are no analytics scripts and no tracking pixels running on any page. See the Cookie Policy for what this site does and doesn't use cookies for.

The contact form

The contact form does not submit to a server or a database. When you send it, your browser opens your own email application with your name, email address, and message pre-filled, addressed directly to JS Gilbert. Your message travels from your device to his inbox the same way any email you send yourself would — this website is never in the middle of it, and never stores a copy.

Fonts

This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. Loading a font means your browser makes a request to Google's servers, which may log standard technical information such as your IP address, as described in Google's privacy policy.

Web hosting logs

Like effectively every website, this site's hosting provider may automatically record basic technical details of each visit — such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested — in standard server logs, for security and operational purposes. This site's owner does not use these logs for tracking or advertising.

Links to other sites

This site links to third parties, including Amazon (to buy the book), Instagram, X, SoundCloud, Cameo, IMDb, MobyGames, and realjsgilbert.com. Each of those has its own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover. Read their policies separately before sharing information with them.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights

Because this site does not store personal data, there is generally nothing to request access to or deletion of. If you have emailed JS Gilbert through the contact form and would like that email deleted from his inbox, or have any other privacy question, just reach out and ask.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a new effective date above.
